(Beijing, April 15) A press conference for the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 China Club Volleyball Tournament was held today at the Capital Indoor Stadium, where the event organizing committee briefed the media about the preparations for the event which is scheduled to open on April 16.

A total of four men's and four women's teams will participate in the five-day tournament, namely Shanghai, Liaoning, Henan and Bayi for the men's and Tianjin, Liaoning, Jiangsu and Bayi for the women's. As top clubs in the country, these teams boast a number of well-known former national players.

The tournament will be held at the Beijing Institute of Technology Gymnasium and Capital Indoor Stadium, with the preliminaries held at both venues on April 16-18, and the semifinals and finals at the Capital Indoor Stadium on April 19-20.

Through last year's "Good Luck Beijing" Goalball Invitational Tournament, the venue team of the Beijing Institute of Technology has gained rich experience in venue operation and competition management. The team, with all its facilities and equipment set, will give the venue another test run through the volleyball event.

For the Capital Indoor Stadium, however, this will be the first time for it to host a "Good Luck Beijing" sport event. The venue has taken on an entirely new look after the renovation. The venue team, for its part, is also ready to operate the venue in strict accordance with the Olympic standards and make the event a complete success so as to get well prepared for the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
