
(Beijing, April 17) On the second day of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 China Club Volleyball Tournament, the Shanghai men's team came from one set down to beat Liaoning 3-1 at the Beijing Institute of Technology Gymnasium this afternoon.
The score was close in the first set, from 23 all to 24-24. Liaoning gained five set points in a row but was kept up by Shanghai. In their sixth set point play, Liaoning managed 31-29.
The Shanghai players gained their advantage in late second set, leading 21-15 to secure the 25-16 win.
The two teams tied 8-8 at the first technical timeout in the third set and Shanghai regained the pace of the match to make it 25-21.
Shanghai led 8-4 into the first technical timeout and extended its predominance to 16-8 at the second technical TO. Liaoning fought hard but failed to turn the table, losing 25-19.
