

(Beijing, April 17) Both the Bayi men's team and the Jiangsu women's team won two consecutive games after the second day's competitions of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 China Club Volleyball Tournament today, while the Henan men's team and the Liaoning women's team each suffered two losses in a row.
The young Jiangsu girls, who had beat Liaoning on the opening day, found their forms early as they won the first set 25-13. Bayi focused on its service and achieved a 7-point lead at the second technical time-out. Jiangsu came close at 22-21, but Bayi played well later in two chance balls to win the set 25-22. Bayi took the third set 25-16 thanks to better net plays while Jiangsu varied its play in the fourth, using quick kills to win 25-20 and tie the score 2-2 as a whole. Jiangsu opened the last set with a 5-2 lead and maintained the lead for the 15-11 victory.
The Bayi men's team also gained its second victory by beating Hennan. The score was 25-21, 25-20, 27-25.
The Liaoning women's team, who had lost to Jiangsu yesterday, fell to Tianjin today again for the absence of several national team players.
In the other match held today, the Shanghai men's team came from one set down to beat Liaoning 3-1 at the Beijing Institute of Technology Gymnasium this afternoon.
Liaoning managed 31-29 in the first set while the Shanghai players gained their advantage in late second set, leading 21-15 to secure the 25-16 win. The two teams tied 8-8 at the first technical timeout in the third set and Shanghai regained the pace of the match to make it 25-21. Shanghai led 8-4 into the first technical timeout and extended its predominance to 16-8 at the second technical TO. Liaoning fought hard but failed to turn the table, losing 25-19.
