(Beijing, April 19) The Bayi women's team beat Liaoning 3-1 in the semifinals of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 China Club Volleyball Tournament at the Capital Indoor Stadium this afternoon. The score was 25-20, 16-25, 25-17, 25-23.

In the preliminary round, Bayi topped the group with two wins and one loss while Liaoning is fourth with three defeats.

Today, Bayi opened the match with 8-5 at the first technical timeout and extended the lead to 11-6. Liaoning took a timeout and its players responded by pulling to within one, 19-18. Bayi varied its play to secure the win 25-20.

Liaoning led 8-5 at the first technical timeout in the second set and kept ahead 16-10 at the second timeout before taking it 25-16.

Bayi set up a 17-11 late in the third set to win 25-17 and took over the match from a 22-all tie in the fourth, entering the final on 25-23.
