(Beijing, April 19) The Tianjin women's team beat Jiangsu in style in the semifinals of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 China Club Volleyball Tournament at the Capital Indoor Stadium this afternoon. The score was 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-18).

In qualifications, both Tianjin and Jiangsu finished with two wins and one loss, with Tianjin placing second and Jiangsu third on score difference. Tianjin beat Jiangsu 3-1 in the preliminary round.

Tianjin used stable defense and fast attack to win the first set 25-17.

Tianjin opened the second set 7-3 and Jiangsu cut the deficit by one to 8-7. A 10-3 run helped Tianjin regain the control of the match, 18-10. Jiangsu took two timeouts later but still fell 25-20.

The score was tied at 5-all early in the decisive set before Tianjin reached the first technical timeout on a 3-1 run and 8-6 margin. The Tianjin players found their forms since the TO and scored on consecutive points to secure the 25-18 win.

Tomorrow, Tianjin and Bayi will face off in the gold medal match of the tournament.
