(Beijing, April 20) In the women's bronze medal match of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 China Club Volleyball Tournament held at the Capital Indoor Stadium today, Liaoning equalized the score twice to edge Jiangsu 3-2 to earn the bronze.

In the preliminary round, Jiangsu achieved two wins and one defeat to finish third because of point inferiority. However, out-of-form Liaoning suffered three straight defeats. In the semifinals yesterday, Jiangsu and Liaoning lost to Tianjin and PLA respectively.

Jiangsu got off to a good start by taking the first set 25-20. The second set was extremely intense, Liaoning rallied at the critical moment to win this set narrowly by 27-25, equalizing the set score 1-1.

In the third set, Jiangsu dominated and was 16-14 ahead at the second technical time-out. Afterwards Jiangsu stepped up a gear to take this set by 25-17, changing the set score to 2-1.

Though the opponent was only one set away from the victory, Liaoning was still in high spirit. In the fourth set, the score was close all along with Liaoning maintaining a lead of one point or two. At the critical moment, Liaoning mounted resolute attacks to take this set 25-22.

In the deciding set, Liaoning, in high morale, staged a run and pressed on after a technical time-out to claim the victory by 15-8.
